Coverage of Warranty

Fabuwood Cabinetry Corp (“Fabuwood”) is pleased to provide the following limited warranty to the first residential purchaser of Fabuwood’s Allure and Illume series cabinets imported to and assembled and sold in the United States and Canada. This warranty does not cover cabinets sold or shipped outside of the United States and Canada. A residential purchaser is a person who purchases and installs the cabinets in a dwelling that is owned and used by that person as a primary or secondary home, or, in the case of a developer or builder, this limited warranty may be assigned to the initial purchaser who uses the dwelling as a primary or secondary home. This warranty, however, is not transferable to subsequent owners of the home. This limited warranty is subject to all limitations, exclusions, disclaimers and procedures set forth herein.

LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY: The Limited Lifetime Warranty on Allure, Illume, Value Premium, Quest, and Valencia series cabinets applies only to products purchased on or after October 1, 2024. Value Premium and Quest series cabinets purchased prior to October 1, 2024, and Allure and Illume series cabinets purchased before January 26, 2023, are not included in the Limited Lifetime Warranty and are subject to Fabuwood’s Limited 5-Year Warranty.

What is not covered

This warranty covers only components and materials of the cabinets that were manufactured or supplied by Fabuwood. This warranty does not cover any products used or installed in connection with the cabinets, such as gas or electric appliances, countertops, or plumbing fixtures. This warranty does not cover cabinets installed in locations that do not maintain year-round environmental controls, or in environments subject to direct or prolonged sunlight, ultraviolet (UV) light, excessive moisture, humidity, or extreme heat or cold. Fabuwood strongly recommends that the intended installation location be evaluated prior to installation to ensure appropriate environmental conditions are maintained. This warranty does not cover cabinets that are modified from their original form, improperly installed, damaged prior to or during installation, or used for any purpose other than normal residential use. “Normal residential use” means use in a single‑family owner‑occupied dwelling under customary household conditions. This warranty does not apply to commercial, rental, or multi‑unit common‑area use unless expressly approved in writing by Fabuwood. This warranty does not cover damage caused by transportation, storage, exposure to dirt, chemicals, smoke, harsh or abrasive household cleaners, or corrosive substances. The warranty does not cover damage arising from normal wear and tear, misuse, neglect, accidents, alterations, improper use, failure to properly maintain the cabinetry, house settling, pest infestations, fire, flood, or other acts of nature or acts of God. This warranty also does not cover damage, deformation, sagging, detachment, or failure of any cabinet part resulting from excessive weight loads or improper loading.

Natural material characteristics (not defects)

The following inherent characteristics of wood and finishes are natural and are not manufacturing defects. As such, they are not covered by this warranty:

WOOD AND COLOR VARIATIONS: Wood is a natural material, and no two trees are identical. Variations in color, tone, texture, grain pattern, mineral streaks, pinholes, knots, and other naturally occurring characteristics are inherent to wood and are not defects. Differences between display samples, photographs, replacement parts, and installed cabinetry are normal and expected.

FINISH VARIATIONS – STAINED, PAINTED, AND GLAZED FINISHES. Variations in stain absorption, glaze intensity, shading, and finish appearance from cabinet to cabinet, and between doors, drawer fronts, and face frames, are normal characteristics of handapplied and factory finishes. Glazed finishes are intentionally uneven in appearance and may highlight edges, profiles, and recesses differently. These aesthetic variations are not defects. Painted finishes may exhibit visible joint lines, hairline cracks, or stress lines at seams and joints due to natural expansion and contraction of wood components in response to seasonal temperature and humidity changes. These conditions are normal and are not defects.

WOOD DOORS, DRAWER FRONTS, AND FACE FRAMES: Wood by nature will undergo expansion and contraction movements over the years as it compensates and adjusts to ever changing atmospheric humidity and temperature conditions. It is very common for center panels on doors to shrink, expand or move during these changes. Center panels that experience shrinkage of up to ⅛”are not considered defective. Typically, the panel will return to its normal position within a year once it has adjusted to seasonal changes. It is for these same reasons that it is very common for doors to warp during these periods. Doors warped up to ¼” are not considered defective. Panels and moldings exhibiting warping of 2” or less are not considered defective. Painted doors, drawer fronts, and face frames may eventually have visible cracking around the joint areas, and cabinet colors may darken or lighten over time. These variations are considered to be the nature of the material in relation to their environmental exposure and are not covered under this limited lifetime warranty.

Exclusive remedy

In the event a defect is covered by the terms and conditions of this warranty, the original purchasing consumer’s sole and exclusive remedy is to receive a repair or replacement of the defective cabinet or component, at Fabuwood’s option, as provided in this limited warranty. Fabuwood will not undertake, or otherwise pay for the cost of removal of the defective cabinet or component, or the cost of transportation or installation of a replacement cabinet or component. Fabuwood will not be responsible for any shipping damages to the defective, replaced, or repaired component. If the defective component has been discontinued or is not available at the time, Fabuwood reserves the right to replace the defective component with the most similar item available in Fabuwood’s inventory at that time. Fabuwood reserves the right to alter design, specifications, and materials without any obligation to make similar changes to previously manufactured products. Fabuwood cannot guarantee that the finish of any replacement will exactly match the finish and appearance of the defective component due to the natural ageing process of the wood and finishes of the cabinets.

If Fabuwood, in its sole discretion, determines it is not commercially feasible to repair or replace a defective component, Fabuwood may refund the original price paid by you for the defective component, or provide a credit towards a similar type of product sold by Fabuwood.

Disclaimer of implied warranties

IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED TO FIVE YEARS FROM THE DATE OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE, OR AS LONG AS THE ORIGINAL PURCHASING CONSUMER OWNS THE HOME IN WHICH SUCH CABINETS ARE INSTALLED, OR THE SHORTEST PERIOD ALLOWED BY LAW, WHICHEVER IS LESS. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FABUWOOD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL COSTS, EXPENSES OR DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOST PROFITS). Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State. It is possible that one or more of the limitations and exclusions in this warranty may not apply to you.

Entire warranty

This warranty constitutes the complete and exclusive statement of the warranty provided by Fabuwood and supersedes any and all prior warranties, representations, or agreements, whether oral or written. No installer, retailer, distributor, agent, or employee of Fabuwood is authorized to modify, expand, or extend this warranty in any manner. Any modification must be in writing and signed by an authorized officer of Fabuwood. If any provision of this warranty is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Claims procedure

To submit a claim covered under this warranty, the claim must be filed through Fabuwood’s EZ pricing system by the original Fabuwood- authorized dealer. In the event the original dealer cannot be identified, or they have closed down, the warranty claim must be emailed to customerservice@fabuwood.com. The email should explain the issue and include pictures showing the claimed defects. Feel free to call 201- 432- 6555 ext. 1 for assistance.

All warranty claims are subject to evaluation by Fabuwood’s RMA department. Items deemed not to be defective will not be eligible for credit or coverage under our warranty. Fabuwood may require, at its sole discretion, that the customer submit photographic proof of defects, send the allegedly defective item to Fabuwood for inspection, or that a company representative inspect the item before honoring this warranty.

Return authorization required

Please do not send back any items to Fabuwood prior to receiving proper authorization from customer service. Fabuwood takes no responsibility on any items sent back to Fabuwood without proper return authorization.
